Postnatal Check-ins
The NHS is an amazing resource, however, it is well known it is also understaffed. The midwives and maternity staff in the hospitals would love nothing more than spend some quality time with you to help your prepare and then look after your baby but this is not always possible. Birth can be a lovely experience and the most magical moment of your life. It is a big can also be very traumatic for some people and very overwhelming. I myself had a traumatic first delivery and I was lucky enough to deliver my baby at my work where I knew some of the staff. Some special midwives really helped me to go over my birth experience and together we discussed why things happened, what could have been done differently, and how this impacted me and made me feel. These postnatal check-ins will be carried out by myself, a qualified midwife, who can explain things from the point of view of a medical professional and also a mother who has experienced birth. As I carry out these meetings I will not be acting as a representative of the NHS and all opinions and advice are my own.
KRMB Postnatal check-ins
We will arrange a pre-birth meeting to discuss your birth plan and expectations for your baby arriving. You will have two 1:1 postnatal check-ins where we will arrange a meeting with you, your partner, and your baby to have a debrief of your birth. We can go over anything you want to discuss and I can explain why things have happened and how the system works in regards to your experience. I can offer support with any of the new-born challenges you are facing. I believe it is best to have one of these meetings within the first two weeks of the birth whilst things are fresh and then a further check-in between 4-6 weeks.
Meetings can take place at your home or we can arrange a location.
Those who book the KRMB maternity experience will be provided with a premium afternoon tea will be delivered directly to your home ahead of your first visit to celebrate the birth of your baby.
